§ 16-34. Duration, transferability.

  • (a)

    Charitable solicitation permits are valid only for the period specified in the permit. Permits will be issued for a period of thirty (30) days unless the applicant documents the necessity for a longer period. Upon a showing by the applicant of necessity, the city secretary may approve issuance of a permit for a period not to exceed one (1) year.

    (b)

    An extension of the permit, not to exceed thirty (30) days, may be granted by the city secretary upon a showing of good cause by the permittee.

    (c)

    Charitable organizations continuously operating on an annual basis, which have as their chief source of revenue the sale of goods, wares and merchandise, whether or not donated to the organization, will hold permits effective from February first of each year until January thirty-first of the following year. Annual written applications must be submitted for renewal of these permits.

    (d)

    A charitable solicitation permit is nontransferable.
