§ 17-18. Nature; limitation on numbers.

The police reserves shall be an auxiliary police force composed of volunteers who shall serve without compensation. The chief of police shall establish the size, composition and organization of the police reserves, which shall not exceed in number the total number of regular police officers authorized by the city.
