§ 26-17. Exemption from bond.

Public agencies and public utilities legally entitled to use public property are exempt from the bonds required by this article; provided, however, contractors and subcontractors employed by such agencies and utilities shall not be so exempt, but shall be required to provide bond as required in this article. Blanket bonds may be utilized so long as the repair cost to public streets and public utilities will not be greater than the amount of the bond. The opinion of the public works director as to the repair cost shall be final.
