§ 26-21. Deposit required for testing water meter.

  • (a)

    Should any consumer demand that a meter be tested for accuracy, he shall make a deposit with the city water and sewer department of an amount equal to the amount the city must pay to have the meter tested. If the test shows that the meter is registering within the warranty of the meter manufacturer or is registering less water than is actually used, the deposit shall become the property of the city water and sewer department; otherwise, the deposit shall be refunded to the user.

    (b)

    If the meter proves to be inaccurate, billings will be adjusted to reflect the inaccuracy.

    Adjustments shall be limited to the previous three (3) billing periods.
