§ 26-23. Billing; delinquent penalty; lien.

  • (a)

    All charges for services furnished or rendered by the city under this article shall be due and payable on the date stamped on the bill, and if not paid within fifteen (15) days after the same becomes due and payable, a ten-percent penalty will be added thereto on the next bill.

    (b)

    The city may file a lien against an owner's property, unless it is a homestead as protected by the Texas Constitution, for delinquent bills for municipal utility service to the property as allowed by state law.
