§ 4-10. Municipal court.

  • The municipal court for the city shall hear appeals from the decisions or actions of the authority or ASO as provided for in this chapter. The court shall also hear complaints involving animals or the care of animals initiated by neighborhoods as provided herein. These may include complaints regarding noisy or nuisance animals as provided in section 4-44, negligent care of animals as provided in section 4-60, dangerous animals or potentially dangerous animals as provided in article VI or any other conduct or action which violates a provision of this chapter. The court shall also hear complaints initiated by the ASO in regard to this chapter. In all of its actions, the court shall seek to devise circumstances under which an owner may keep an animal; however, the court shall also give consideration to the safety of the neighborhood and the health and welfare of the animal.
