§ 13-4. Court reporter; electronic recording.

  • (a)

    The clerk of the court shall appoint a court reporter who meets the qualifications provided by law for official court reporters. The reporter shall be compensated based on hourly charges for transcribing and certifying statements of facts.

    (b)

    Proceedings in municipal court shall be recorded by a good, quality electronic device selected by the clerk. Recordings shall be kept and stored for twenty (20) days after the last day of the proceedings, trial or denial of the motion for new trial, whichever occurs last. The court reporter need not be present at trial to certify the statement of facts. The court reporter shall transcribe the proceedings from the recording.
